Advice and answers from the BitPay Team

BitPay invoices require an exact amount of bitcoin to be paid successfully. Some services aren't completely clear about the exact amount of bitcoin they will send to a payee.

While we recommend using a real bitcoin wallet, if you need to use one of these services, please be sure of the exact amount of bitcoin being sent.

Sometimes, the exchange rate "Perfect Money to Bitcoin" and other services use will vary from BitPay's Best Bid exchange rate, resulting in an underpayment or overpayment to the invoice. In these cases, please confirm the exact amount of bitcoin being sent before attempting to make the payment.

For example, when paying a BitPay invoice requiring .010005 BTC , if the service only sends .010004 BTC, your payment will fail, and you will need to request a refund and try again.

Please also note, refunds can only be processed in bitcoin. In order to receive your refund, you will need a real bitcoin wallet.
